PLAYTIME
PLAYTIME is for mothers and pre-school children.
AIMS: 1. To provide play activities for children and mothers together.
2. To provide opportunities for mothers to enjoy a relaxed and informative programme.
3. To encourage friendships and show Christian love.
TIME: 10.00am - 12 noon each Monday and Tuesday during school terms. (Mothers can only attend one day)
MEMBERSHIP: Any ladies with pre-school children may apply to join. Numbers are restricted because of limited facilities, and you may have to go on a waiting list.
FEES: Enrolment fee of $15 per year per family.
Weekly fee of $3 per family
PROGRAMME:
10.00 - 11.00 Children play inside, together with, and supervised by their own mothers.
11.00 - 11.20 Children's and mothers' morning tea.
11.20 - 11.40 Children play outside (weather permitting) together with their mothers.
11.40 - 12.00 Singing and storytime, mothers and children participating together.
LEADERS AND HELPERS: All the leaders and helpers belong to the West Ryde Baptist Church. All give their time voluntarily and have been carefully screened for their suitability.
RULES: 1. Mothers must supervise their own children, and are responsible for them and their behaviour.
2. New mothers may attend for one week before joining.
3. No smoking anywhere on the property.
4. No child is to attend with a known contagious illness or fever.
5. All mothers take turns in activities such as bringing and serving morning tea, washing up, packing up and sweeping the floor. A roster will be on the notice board for this purpose. Please put your name on the roster on the day you can help.
6. No buying or selling of goods or services, except on days set aside for that purpose.
7. Children are not allowed in the KITCHEN area
8. Toys and puzzles must be kept in their respective places.
LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP: You may lose your membership if -
1. You do not co-operate with the above rules and guidelines.
2. You are absent 3 weeks in a row, without letting us know, or you are frequently absent, without contacting a committee member. Frequent absences are unfair to mothers on the waiting list.
Please Note: If you or your child have, or are getting over a cold or gastric, please stay away until you and/or your child are well again. If any of your older children are home from school sick, please DO NOT bring them to Playtime. These ailments are very contagious, so we ask that you be very thoughtful of others.
